It is impossible to exactly trace the baseball when first played. Historians’ idea that a game with bat and ball was played in France from a manuscript from 1344. The manuscript indicates that a game is being played with a stick and ball in 1280.

Aside from this, the modern baseball idea came from Britain. The book “A Little Pretty Pocket-Book” written by John Newbery illustrated a baseball hitter, a bowler, and three rounder posts. The book was published in 1744 by a British children’s publication.

However, the first-ever recorded “Bass-Ball” was played in 1749 in a British county named Surrey. Aside from this, the English lawyer William Bray recorded another baseball game in 1755 in Guilford, a town of Surrey.

The game was first introduced in the 18th century in Canada by British immigrants. Another baseball-like game “Rounders” was also brought to Canada by the British and Irish immigrants as well. Baseball was first held in Canada in 1838 in Ontario, Canada.

The first-ever baseball game appeared in America in 1791 in Pittsfield, Massachusetts. By 1796, the game was able to draw attention as mentioned in German’s scholar’s book.

In the 1830s, there were reports of uncodified bat and ball games recognized as “town ball.” An unofficial baseball game was held in 1845 in America. After this, Alexander Cartwright, a member of the Knickerbocker Club defined some rules for the game.

On June 19, 1846, the first official baseball game was held between Knickerbocker Club and New York Nines. By 1856, baseball was mentioned as the “National Pastime” of America.

Actually, people thought it because he tried to establish the theory that baseball was created in America. But you know, there were many games like baseball in the ancient world, even in the 15th century.

Basically, modern baseball was invented in Britain, and it came to North America in the 18th century. More specifically, baseball first came to Canada in the whole of North America.

The first official baseball game was played on 19th June 1846 in America, between Knickerbocker Club and New York Nines. The first official rules of baseball were defined by Alexander Cartwright, a member of the Knickerbocker Club.

He is the creator of the two most important states of baseball including batting average and Earned Run Average (ERA).  Actually, he is the developer of the statistical system for baseball.

He was one of the pioneers of promoting baseball in the 19th century which made the game vastly popular in the 20th century. As a sports writer, he continuously promoted the game among the people.

He is also the creator of box scores for baseball along with many statistics. Ultimately, he was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1938.

Like, if I were on the field in first base and the hitter got to first base, I would call him the wrong name. Just think, Mike Trout is on first base-loaded and I shout, “hey Bonny, what’s up? Is everything ok?”

Like he would be surprised and think who the heaven Bonny is actually!

What about keeping the score of the game? Also, it is a tradition of baseball to keep the scores by the fans. Though the tradition is falling down day by day.
